"Agentic Workflows" = A Playbook Per Case Type

D3's Morpheus builds a per-alert investigation flow on the fly. Sounds smart. In practice, it generates a separate playbook for each case type. Phishing? New playbook. Impossible travel? New playbook. Malware on endpoint? Another one. Give it a few months and you're staring at 200+ automations. That's not agentic. That's the same SOAR playbook sprawl you're trying to escape, just auto-generated.

Looks Amazing in Demo. Gets Messy in Production.

The "Glass Box" transparency is a smart pitch. You see the reasoning, you see the Python code it generates, you can edit it. Cool for a POC. But in a real SOC with hundreds of alert types, you end up maintaining hundreds of auto-generated playbooks with AI-generated Python that your team didn't write. When something breaks at 3 AM, good luck debugging code the AI wrote for a case type you've seen twice.

Strip away the marketing and D3 is still a SOAR platform at its core. The "Hybrid Model" means you can edit AI-generated logic with natural language or Python. That's a nice improvement over traditional SOAR. But the foundation is still deterministic playbooks, static decision trees, and pre-defined paths. The AI assists the playbook. It doesn't replace the need for one. That's a fundamental architecture difference.
